80D wildlife users
I know that there are a few of us on here that use the 80D for wildlife ,and having just bought my second one I found that the set up was a bit daunting ,searching online I came across a wildlife set up guide by a chap called grant Atkinson and having put his settings into the camera it does seem he knows what he's doing

Re: 80D wildlife users
Looks interesting Jeff, thanks a lot for that. To be honest, I've probably only scratched the surface of all of the settings I could play with so I expect that to be rather useful.Chris

Re: 80D wildlife users
These are useful starting points, but I note most of the photos used are large slow-moving or still subjects, not much like the wildlife we mainly have in this country. I put similar settings on my 80D and saved them under C1, then reset everything to default before going through it all again for macro, which I saved under C2 So I basically use C1 for telephoto stuff, C2 for macro and usually Av with various settings for everything else.EOS 6D, 6D Mk II, 80D, 70D, 100D, 200D, M50, M100. Canon 10-18, 18 - 55, 55 - 250 IS STM lenses, Canon 16 - 35 mm F4L, 35 mm EF-S macro, 50 mm F1.8 STM, 60 mm EF-S macro, MPE-65 macro, 85 mm F1.8, 200 mm F2.8 L II, M 15 - 45 mm, M 22mm F2, M 32mm F1.4. Sigma 24 - 35 F2 Art, 135 mm F1.8 Art, 17 - 50 F2.8 DC, 105 mm OS macro, 100 - 400 C, 150 - 600 C.

Re: 80D wildlife users
a good point Richard most of it comes under general usage hints and tips and set to own requirements ,but he does go into how the a/f system works a bit better than most ,and the two points I needed help on where setting the focus points to move on the control pad in a fluid movement without switching it via the from button ,and the use of exposure compensation in manual mode which you can't do unless its switched on to work
