    Nice expression and I like the half light, half shade.

    Shame about the anachronistic glasses though. Nothing you can do about that other than ask him to take them off but it spoils the period look he’s trying to achieve.

        suits mono but i would have liked the shadows lifted on the left

        I felt brave asking if I could take his photo,
        in some ways thats what they are paid for

            I don't know if they get paid, I am afraid.

            Stan, I was aiming for a sidelit portrait, but I could have probably brought the shadows up a tad.

              My understanding is that the costume/period dressed people are volunteers. But I could be wrong.

                Agree about the glasses but also agree it's hard to ask.

                I like the lighting with the shadow on the face suited very well to black and white processing. [emoji106]

                  I was thinking more that in putting on the uniform, it is expected they allow paying visitors to take photographs for their personal use, that certainly was the position at the Black Country Living Museum, which is a similar idea
