    Catacombes Paris

Pushed the camera to the limits with these (behind actually) freezing cold all day and then down into the Catacombes, condensation a real issue, no tripods allowed, no flash allowed, totally handheld and very high ISO

such a surreal experience, bones of 6 million people!

    Re: Catacombes Paris

I've not a 7D and its low light/high ISO performance was truly woeful. Then came the mk2 version as you used here that was supposed to be so much better yet still there were rumblings that the, IIRC, 80D was far superior. That said I think what you've achieved here in conditions dictating ISO 12,800 and 10,000 is quite exceptional

    Cheers,
    John

Thanks John, conditions were truly not ideal.

        Re: Catacombes Paris

you did very well, did you consider mono? I think these could work well along with pushing the clarity

its amazing what we can get away with with these new cameras. I also had the Mk1 7D and it was awful when you started pushing the ISO

Never gave it a thought, but now you’ve mentioned it it would have been truly fitting considering the history involved, might have a look at mono, thanks

Excellent shots, with the second one the pick for me. It's certainly a very interesting & eye-opening place to visit.

Thanks Chris, it is indeed a very interesting place, although my wife and daughter started getting a little spooked by the place after about 15 mins, I would have spent a lot longer down there.
