      David, that’s a lot of ice! I hope that it hasn’t damaged the pump. Does your pond have a liner? Ice on ours made a good job of puncturing it some years ago.

        Ian, The pump itself is a lot deeper & it keeps gong just to keep a small area of the pond ice free, so that stops the expansion puncturing the liner. If the ice gets to thick I do turn the pump off, always get some great sculptors.
