    He is pretty. I have never seen one of these birds. Is that a marking or shadow on his breast?

                  Thanks for looking guys.

                  They turn up at Blashford most winters but can be a bit difficult to spot from a distance as they look a bit like a male chaffinch. They never turn up in any numbers so a matter of luck to be there at the right time. This was the only one on the day but he was around on and off for about an hour. Lokking forward to getting a sighting of the female soon

                    We normally get a couple in amongst the flocks of Chaffinch, but not seen any this year, nice shot, lucky you to see them regularly.

                          Thanks to your comment, Stan, I was sure to give a group of Chaffinch a second look this morning, only to discover some of them were Bramblings. :)
