Christmas Glow at RHS Wisley

Went to Wisley's illuminations on Thursday. Having dithered between tripod and monopod I plumped for the tripod and glad that I did because there was always plenty of space to set up and take my time without getting in anyone's way.

Yes we could have gone during the blue hour but we wanted to go as late as we could to minimise the number of ankle biters running around. Was a photographic compromise I was happy with. Who said Christmas was a time for children? (bah humbug).

Nice pics Alex, it seems that we were there at the same time! I also was using a tripod because of the exposure times. Mostly I used my 5D3 but I had my new 80D as well for a few shots

Ian, so I probably saw you at some point. I'd be interested to see what you got. There were a fair few people with tripods around, weren't there? Many (like me) with long suffering partners/families trudging around behind.

Alex, I saw a number there with tripods but not as many as I was expecting. I post a few of my pics when I get a few minutes after tomorrow.

Thanks for sharing those, Ian, it is always fascinating to see what others get from the same venue. I really love your second one, you've got the tree textures brilliantly, and looking at mine I stayed very wide angle for most of them, so it is a great lesson for me to need to occasionally get in closer.
