    Spoonbill

Shot last week at Hengistbury Head on the Christchurch Harbour side. He came quite close to the beach, so much nearer than anything on Brownsea. Got the usual sweeping and feeding shots but these are when he took a break to preen

    Stunning photos Stan.

Can I ask which camera/lens combo you used as one is at 500mm and the other at 600mm?
    Thanks

both with 7DII and sigma 150-600, one zoomed in a bit and the other fully extended. Although I have both the C and S versions, these shots were using the C

You have done well with those Stan.

Bathing, fluffed up feathers and a reflection have made the image different to the norm.

the bathing and feathers are what made it so pleasing to capture the shots and more so due to the fact I had spent the previous hour and a half walking around without seeing or shooting anything and was about to head home when I thought I would just take a quick look at this little area and struck lucky
