        Actually Colin they are common here
        only saw one once at Ding Darling on our first visit to Florida a couple of years back but last April didnt see any at all despite an organised trip to spot them

          A lot depends on the time of year you visit Stan and where you go looking. I live in central Florida and during cold winters they migrate up our springs at night because the water temps are 72 degrees year around. During our warm months they are harder to find because they head out to deeper waters to feed.
