    Sandsend Groynes

One from a trip out to Sandsend and Whitby yesterday. I was a bit dubious about going as the weather forecast wasn't that good. I had to take shelter later in the day as it started to rain when I was in Whitby. The fish and chips made up for the abandoned photography .

#1 a hand held shot North along the coast which is where the rain came in from.

#2 a 4.4 sec LE with a grad on the sky and a little stopper.

Nice lead in in number 1....but I really like No 2....nice movement and just a little inclusion of beach grounds the composition and implies the immensity of the sea.
(thats quite a good analysis from me....I'm usually crap with words)

Second one for me Peter, but I was convinced that the sky wasn't adding anything to the shot. I used some card to block the sky and it just didn't work. Your instincts were right and it really needs that small strip of sky to add depth and balance to the image.

Second for me too Peter. The groynes lead nicely to the little cloud formation on the horizon which adds great depth. Love the range of colours.

Do like the second one. The first could look nice in mono with a good contrast boost and less sky...
