    2018 Philadelphia Auto Show

Today SWMBO and I headed to Philly for the 2018 version of the Autoshow. Here are some of the cars from a fisheye's point of view.

An interesting viewpoint! They work best for me when straight on and having the car mostly fill the frame, so that's #1 & #3. #2 would be improved with the car head-on and the others in a bit closer. It's definitely nice to see something completely different on here.

I agree with Chris. You need to get up close and personal with a fisheye in these situations although that said the Nissan in the last shot works rather well despite being relatively small in the frame - perhaps because there's some decent space around it.

Looks like you had a good day out too.

Thanks Chris and Nigel and in some cases I would agree with you as getting close and personal, however that said, I did find that some cars do not photograph well being that close. For instant the Audi R8, a beautiful car looks like this up close an personal:

Nor does the front of the Corvette look that well:

However the rear of the vet came out well IMO

When I say close up and personal I mean really close...

Unfortunately a lot of the cars were roped off to keep people form getting too close.

that fisheye of yours gets everywhere

I suppose the problem with these shows is so many people which do tend to distract, perhaps better to shoot closer next time so the car fills the frame thus keeping any distraction to a minimum

As much as I like all of the cars the 1968 subaru is my favourite shot....and probably the least of the brands here I'd choose to own.....except all my resources are taken up with photography so Ill probably never own any of these models anyway.

Great fun with the Fisheye once again Tom.

I love the shot of the BMW i8, especially as I want one. I was working quite well on the low carbon footprint and green credentials and all was going well with Mrs C, until she saw one in the flesh ........... then it was a thumbs down!
