I like the shot and its got lots of drama but I would have put more attention into the main door and considering its shot at ISO 800 you have a lot of shadow you can pullout. then work on the sign and loose most of the other stuff with a stronger rad filter...least thats what I'd try

Thanks, Ian, hoped you'd approve, and that's a good call on the door which to be honest I'd ignored. Most of my effort went into removing a parked car and then ensuring the metal sign stood out. Once I'd got them done I said phew, stepped back and moved on.

I would be interested in having a look at the Raw file if you could upload and drop me a link, just to seewhat could or couldn't be done with the image... maybe you've already pushed it as far as it will go, either way you've done well

Ian, that's really kind of you. I've just private messaged you a dropbox link which I hope works. If you get a chance to play that would be wonderful, but if not, no harm done. I'm happy if you post any results here for all to see.
              Cheers.

OK downloaded and had a play. Mines a tad darker :) and like you lost the car :) but went a bit wider as I wanted to have more of the road

Gosh, Ian, that is great; you have added your magic touch. I particularly love how you've made so much of the road texture, which leads you into the image, where the door is now a proper feature, and then the pool of light beyond drawing you on.
Thanks for showing me (and hopefully others) more processing possibilities - I'll be revisiting this one at the weekend. Anthony Morghanti videos have only got me so far, I now need to enrol at the School of Tigger!
Very interested in other people's thoughts.

Glad you liked it Alex.. Its such a great photo you could post up so many versions of this image and glad you liked my effort.

Also good call on cloning one door on top of the other for a easy edit to loose the car :)

Well done Alex and Ian, it's been interesting seeing the different takes on the same original. I am just starting on LR and it looks like there is a lot more to learn in PS as well!

I initially liked the original....but I have to say I like Ian's version more I think.....having said that it is very Ian in style and not necessarily what Id want to produce myself as I'd prefer to find my own style.
It does prove more and bolder processing can provide rewards

For sure there are thousands of ways of processing this. I probably wouldn't have followed Ian's approach, although I like it very much, and I think Alex could pull much more from the image, but hey, chac'un à son goût!!!
