    Re: Dishevelled cinema, Florence

It's really interesting to see both the original and 2 completed versions and as Richard says there are many ways to process this

Definitely like the extra width of road that Tigger has kept which makes the image much more complete and I have to admire the detail he has wrung out of it

I am a little critical of the spooky grey finish however- it's the signature Tigger Goth Dish as we know- but this is Florence of the mellow browns after all!

Well done chaps and thanks for sharing

Ian (Farider), thanks. Not sure if it is obvious from your comment, but mine was all done in Lightroom.
Brian, Richard, Bo, thanks also for your considered thoughts. I will continue to play, develop and learn. No-one else would pick it out but in my little head I have a processing style of my own. Nowhere near as distinctive as some but I think I've settled on a look and processing effort I like, albeit on some images such as this I can see that I should have worked more at pulling some extra detail out. And then I'd sometimes love to be bolder and more 'artistic', hence I admire Ian and Richard's work and sometimes you need to peer over your boundaries to find out where they are. Every day's a school day, as they say.

        Re: Dishevelled cinema, Florence

So thanks to everyone's comments. I've had another go at it, and this is my final result:

        Cinema in Florence 2
        by AlexR!, on Flickr

My original focus was just on the cinema building, but I think it is much better now with the inclusion of the street. I have left the warm lighting, and consciously left the blue pool of light and green windows to create distinct points of interest. I have also tried to enhance the church tower beyond to get the viewer to look up there.
Thanks for making me look again at it.

This is great, you’ve got maximum detail with the extra size and interest - and kept the mellow Florence feel

I very much like the new version...

I think many of us would pick out images from your own style signature.....albeit less bold than some.
