First steps with my new FF

This is Chilli, on vacation with us for 10 days.
She's only 9 months old and after spending the first 24 hours under the dresser, came out and looked a bit lost and wistful. After that she was at full tilt boogie so I only had a few days with my new model!

The 5dmk 4 is an awesome beast and I'm slowly learning about the bells and whistles. For me the most marked difference is in the need for accuracy on focal length as the DOF is strict. The dynamic range is stunning and I'm finding all sorts of stuff in the image when it comes to PP. I haven't done much at high ISO yet.

So I've got the gear, already had some good glass, no excuse now not to take the perfect picture.............yeah, right!

being fussy its a shame you clipped her tail :) but others its a fine moggy shot..

you'll love the mkIV its a great beast of a camera as for pushing its ISO, I've process shots at 10k and have pulled the shadows up quite a bit and its still pretty good. I've got one right now I'm struggling with but thats just at 25,600 LOL.. needs some careful work and holding the noise back is a struggle

I got her tail but it’s long and straight (like yours!) and made the picture lopsided so I clipped it.

Getting good stuff at 10k will be a major step forward for me.

10k is easy ..I don't even think about the ISO till I see it going past 6500

very nice shots - cant beat a good moggy but probably in your excitement you have posted in "animals" rather than "domestic animals" unless of course he is truly wild

I meant that with the FF sensor, I get a shallower depth-of-field at wide apertures, ie a thinner slice of moggy in focus.

Obviously too excited to be clear or even to discover the sub-section for domestic animals(sorry Stan).....

                          Thanks for stopping by, chaps
