          Lovely shot Stan. I would point out that for some reason Snipe are always referred to in the singular. A flock is a "wisp of Snipe".

            Well, not quite - it is just that the plural of "Snipe" is "Snipe" (c.f Sheep)

              I wondered that on a post a few weeks back but when I checked, it seems you can use snipe or snipes.

                Chambers Dictionary says snipe as the plural for the bird and snipes as the plural for species of the bird.
