    Question Speedite 430 EZ Question?

Will a 430 EZ Speedlite work with a Canon EOS 60D camera either on or off the camera body?
    Thank you

Yes and no with regard to the body... Yes in the respect that it will fire in sync with the shutter but no in respect that there will be no TTL flash control. As the EZ430 has manual intensity control then you can use that to reduce the level otherwise it will fire at full power.

Used with an off camera cord the same applies - the Speedlite will fire but without TTL metering. What the situation is regarding wireless flash I'm not sure but this article may be worth a read.

If you are planning to use a lot of flash then a replacement EX series is probably a better option - I have a 420EX I picked up secondhand that does all I need it to.

I think I'll start looking for an EX flash.

You might consider a Yongnuo flash. They're clones of the Canon ones, do exactly the same, at a fraction of the price. Lots of people here use them and I've never heard of anyone having any problems. The one I have is the YN-568EX II, 80 from Amazon.
