Leaf or Butterfly

Not the weather for outdoor photography today so we took a trip to Swindon and the Studley Butterflies.

This butterfly can easily be missed as it looks just like a leaf, in the certain light, even if you get close

Shot with 100 f2.8 macro, manual 1/160, f10, ISO 800 and ring flash

Love the eye detail Stan, I can see why this is difficult to spot.

once on foliage almost impossible, a bit like the british moth which looks just like a bit of twig

I have several stick insects, and although I know what they look like, I often still cannot pick them out of the foliage!

there are stick insects at Studley as well - we found one yesterday but was able to spot it as it had decided to try and cross the paath

excellent work Stan, and you need keen eyes to spot that
