    Sparrowhawk in the Garden

    Woke up this morning , opened the kitchen blind , it was snowing and this bugger was sitting in the tree.....

    The first 3 were taken through the kitchen window , then i sneaked around to the neighbours gate for these 2 ......

    I guess you were spotted for the last one Gordon. Well spotted and captured. Do you have bird feeders in the garden, we have one that visits and seems to know where all the bird feeders are !

      Hi Peter , It actually went off after some of the local pigeons (wish it had caught one, they are a blood nuisance !) , yes we do have feeders and it seems to know we have as Melanie has seen it lurking a few times on her days off , i think it's one that has been seen at the local reserve , The Big Waters .

          Nice set Gordon. We had one that always sat on a particular branch in a Oak outside the living room window in line of sight of the bird table where it would commit its wicked deed. -- I cut the branch off! There's plenty of opportunities for it up in the woods.

              A lovely set. The only time a sparrowhawk was on our garden (it took a collared dove and devoured it on the lawn) was in my pre-Canon days.
