Alistair, no offence intended, I have a friend who is totally confined to a wheelchair. He'd got an array of feeders outside his window with twigs and branches stuck in the ground around them. The birds use these as a stepping off point before going onto the feeders and bird table. He gets some very acceptable shots looking very natural - just a thought.
