    Afterglow and snow

One from February from the road over Bealach na Ba (the pass of the cattle) and looking over the sea to Skye. Always an entertaining drive though best out of the tourist season.

Incredible sky colours. Bleak looking place, but beautifully photographic.

                  Re: Afterglow and snow

I've tried photographing that view many times and have even stood in exactly that same spot but have never succeeded anywhere near as well as you have here.

Of course, I've only ever been in the summer and by the time the sun has set casting this wonderful glow I'm in the Applecross Inn tucking into local langoustines washed down with a pint or three of An Teallach or Red Cuillin. I also don't see myself ever attempting Bealach na Ba in the snow on my motorbike (how I travel) as, for those who don't know, this road climbs from sea level to 2053 feet before dropping back to sea level again all in a mere 12 miles! An intimidating road at the best of times but in the snow?

Yes, a very nice shot indeed!

                  Cheers,
                  John

                    Thanks guys.

The road surface over the pass was free of snow but the ten foot wall of the drift the road squad had cut through was testament to the hard work they had done to clear it.
