Wish I could walk into the frame, Carol! Have you thought about removing the red object just above the far wall? Nice colour and wonderful scenery.

                Thank you Trev and Di.

I am not really a landscape photographer, but want to practice when we go to the Yorkshire Dales in two weeks time. Any tips welcome.
                Regards,

                      A really well chosen shot.

I like pictures that can convey some kind of narrative whether intended or not.
What makes this an interesting picture for me is the contrast between the foreground which gives a sense of restriction with the walls suggesting containment, the trees forming a barrier to reaching the wildness and freedom beyond.
The line of the walls and the track suggest a way to reach the freedom of the hills.

Worthy of a magazine cover or a Lakes Tourism guide. Fabulous light well handled.

It takes a special scene for a landscape to work in portrait mode but this one works very well indeed with the parallel walls leading the eye into the picture before the viewers eye is cast upwards... then upwards some more... and even more such is the height and scale captured. A very nice image indeed.

                            Cheers,
                            John
