    Fire escapes of New York.

    Maybe it's the retired firefighter in me but I have a fascination for American fire escapes & there different patterns , plus the fronts of the buildings they are on. Here are just a few of the MANY I took while there last week.

        Interesting set...those framed without background are the stronger images for me....

              Though I see what you are saying from a photographic point of view, I took these shots for both the fire escapes & the uniqueness of the masonry of the buildings they are on.

                    They're certainly architectural and I have no doubt they have saved a fair few lives in their time. But the last series of books I read the murderer came in via the fire escape. :frown:

                        Super 'stuff'. It has given me some ideas for, hopefully, tomorrow.
