Seals near Wallasea Island, Essex

I used the EF70-300mm L lens with the Kenko 1.4 teleconverter. The boat was obviously moving, so I'm pleased some were in focus.

Some good shots there ... I have the same lens and wondered what the focussing was like with the Kenko teleconverter. Do you get the full zoom range at all focal lengths and does stabilisation still work? Did the lens just fit and work or did you have to modify anything?

I switched the Image Stabilisation off, and took the Exposure Compensation to -1 2/3rds. All the lens corrections were left on. I think I set the Aperture Mode on F-8 all the time. Flickr actually shows the ‘new’ focal length, and it worked from 70 all the way up to 300mm. The Automatic Focussing still worked.

I’ve been testing the EF-S 18-200mm and the EF-S 18-135mm lenses and the Kenko 1.4 works with both; I left the Lens Aberration Correction on, Plus the Image Stabilisation on. Did not have to make any exposure compensation, plus the auto focus worked. It was simply attach it and go.
The Tamron 16-300mm lens will not work at all. Just get an error message.
