    Nest box update No. 4

A couple of recent shots - eyes are open now and plumage is developing rapidly - we have seen some attempts to flex the jolly old wing muscles. The nest is getting quite crowded and we are not sure that we still have the original 9 chicks - the little beggars will not keep still enough (and the field of view is too limited) for us to be able to try and count them. The parents are working very hard!

(The white OOF splodge seems to have been a bit of errant feather nest lining which has now gone).

Nice update. The blue tit chicks in our box must be at a similar stage, you can hear them from far end of garden every time an adult enter the box.
