    High Bridge Falls

On the way back from having a large hole in my tooth fixed, SWMBO and I Stopped by Lake Solitude to view this historic Dam.

Near Lone Lake (Lake Solitude) in High Bridge city was erected a small dam, built in 1909. This is the earliest example of this construction type, and it is the last remaining buttress dam in New Jersey.

The dam, consisting of a 42-foot spillways, was built to generate electricity for the Taylor-Wharton company , which produced weapons for the US military in times of wars – from the Revolution to the Korean War.

Fascinating formation in the way the water is falling, looks like fountains coming up to meet the fall. Like that Tom.

I like the last shot best. Nice to have the history behind the shot. Thanks.

Agree with other comments about the second image. I also particularly enjoyed reading about the history. I think it's important to include a narrative to images as it adds additional interest.

A bit late viewing as we were away when it was posted, but I like the effect this has produced. Nice one Tom, and great back story as always.
