Re: Apt Topic for the Pub.....

I’m sitting in a B&B in watching the fishing boats going to and fro, reading with interest peoples thoughts and reminiscences about whisky/whiskey ( whiskey for any Irish or American readers)
Last night I had an evening meal in a pub here in Ullapool and whilst there spotted a flyer describing the various tasting they had.
I can only recall their first offer £10 (but the others were £15 & £20) for a “Regional” tasting that included a Speyside a Jura and one other.
There was no mention of the amount of each that you would get of each but I suspect they would be single measures, if so £10 for three wee drams isn’t expensive.
I was driving so didn’t partake hence my lack of memory of each of the offers.

Have drunk in many a bar in Ullapool Peter , The Arch was the first , had my first 18yo Macallan in the Ferry Boat Inn on the Main Street , Had my First 25yo Macallan in the Argyll - £6 for a dram , a pricely sum in the late 90's ! The Celidh Place used to be good behind the campsite , my wife loved the place as you could get a drink and peruse the Bookshop at the same time ! There was also a cracking fish and chip shop opposite the Ferry terminal .
