    Well you are certainly make by us think! If there was more definition between sky and land in the first it would have worked better for me. The second and third are ok.

      The first one really needs the sky working on...

      The others are fine as is.

      I never bother to use the monochrome setting, especially if saving to JPEG, as you can so much more with raw to mono...

        Thanks Andrew and Nigel......I should have used RAW to benefit from post processing possibilities.....and not trusted the exposures to live view appearance. The burnt out whites have been exacerbated by trying to bring out the dark tone of the dog...again I could have done better in RAW by using colour sliders.
