    Wimbledon

Was fortunate enough to have tickets for No.1 Court on the first Tuesday of Wimbledon. The seats were fairly well back from the court. The public are not allowed to take any lenses longer than 300mm into Wimbledon so I had my Sigma 18-300mm lens on my 70D. I was pleased to capture the ball played in each of these shots:

    Nice set Ian
I notice Djokovic’s racket and the ball is not frozen ...is that because it’s a serve I wonder.

Nice set of pictures Ian. Question, for what reason do they ban anything over 300mm

In case you take better photo's than the pro's?

          So take a 300mm f2.8 and have a 1.4x and 2x in your pocket .............. problem solved.

Don't know why Trev but they make it clear they will not allow >300mm. Guess you could probably sneak an extender in to give a bit more reach. The security actually checked my lens at the gate.

Cheers Dan, it's my favourite but he's not my favourite player. The light wasn't as bright and harsh for this shot compared to the others.

I Imagine the genuine reason is that you are less likely to spoil someone elses experience of the event by 1. obscuring their view or 2. giving them a brain injury as you smack them round the head with a 600mm from the stands
