          nice to see them quite close - I presume - and two good poses

          is it normal to see them in the UK?
          reasonably common, during the winter there are usually some 40 in Poole Harbour and Brownsea Island, often too far away for shots though. Seen them close at Keyhaven and Hengistbury Head this year and a bit nearer you, they tend to turn up occasionally at Slimbridge

            I was told we had a Mediterranean Gull up here at the moment so stuff is moving north, thanks for the heads up Stan.

                Tony - we get a few dropping in on the Exe Estuary from time to time, although they are usually way out, this one decided to take a closer look at the shore
