    South Devon Railway (again)

SWMBO was back at Dartington Hall for a meeting recently and once again I was allowed to wander off and get down by the river Dart and the SDR.

This time, I stayed within the confines of the Dartington Estate and wandered along the river bank looking for a spot. I was surprised to be confronted with a nubile young lady bathing in the river wearing nothing but her knickers (no photo available) but it did not distract me from the task in hand.

Running alongside the river the line is naturally pretty flat, so one does not always get much exhaust, so this was the best available.

Nice shot John, that's a classic location (for both photography and swimming )

    Cheers,

Thank you John - I bow to your superior knowledge and experience of the bathing

Lovely shot with the reflection. It's a very slight shame about the bracken slightly bleeding into the reflection - you should have just nipped the top off (just like the bather )

Thanks Chris - I did consider that, after I had removed an errant grass stem which really intruded, but I was not happy with the result I achieved, so I left it.

          I may revisit it.

nice reflection, shame, as often on the Swanage railway, the engine is facing the wrong way. If mine, I would have used content aware to fill that small area of sky in the corner

Doesn't bother me with tank engines since they were designed to run both ways and few branch lines had turntables. Tender engines however really do look wrong running tender first...

Thanks for that suggestion Stan - I confess it is a little uninteresting. Unfortunately content aware fill produces a wall of greenery which does not quite look right, so I tried a bit of fresh sky instead.
