        Re: Portland Lighthouse

I know I was a little critical of the Steel Stacks long exposures as they didn't, to me, seem to have benefitted from LE. These, however, do and are an excellent use of the filter being neither too extreme or ineffective. I think the first is my favourite as the eye is led nicely around the image and to the outer rocks (but I'd have cloned out that small piece of railing in the LH corner). Still excellent work though Now, what do they look like in mono?

        Cheers,
        John

            Lovely set Tom.
I'll be different and say No 3 for me.

All lovely, Tom, and really work well as LE. I'm another one voting for the first as my favourite (though perhaps I'd turn the thing intruding bottom left into a hedge).

Nice series Tom, I do like a good lighthouse. My personal choice of the three would be the first, providing you tidy the bottom left corner as described by the previous responders.

First is my favourite as well, agree with cloning out the railing bottom left though. Personally I'd also clone out, or crop out, the distant lighthouse as it's so near the right hand edge.

                          Hi Tom
Hope life has been treating you well my friend. You’ve clearly lost none of your abilty to capture and convey a scene beautifully. The long exposure works really well and while I like them all the first is a cracker .

Thanks Tom. Life’s road has generally had a smooth surface although a few gargantuan potholes have required careful negotiation and there’s been some unexpected foul weather. However, you know, the journey is good and I am, I feel, a very fortunate man. (Alun comes over all philosophical
