This just confirms that he is an F number chaser. One of the most popular lens is the 100-400 f4-5.6 - yet this is a real problem in a lens that is 70-300.

That argument does not stand up to logic as probably most people will want this lens in good light hanging of a 60D/7D that are good at high iso and dont need the extra reach because of the crop factor.

His treatment of the nifty fity was along the same lines.

      Thanks for posting this link.

That Digital Rev bloke is quite amusing, I'm not sure if he takes it all too seriously :-)
He's always getting told off by concerned viewers about being wreckless with £1000s of pounds worth of camera gear.

If you want a laugh, forward the video to 4.02mins to see him with the 1dMkv - he knocks the flashgun of it.... LOL

He he Glenn, he knows how to push all the right buttons to raise eyebrows

He’s got “cult status” for that kind of thing.
When he gets nagged about expensive reckless lens changes, he goes out of his way to find somewhere precarious to place a very expensive camera. He’ll remove the hoods off lenses and wave them about close to metal fences etc

WTD is the only thing more entertaining than Kai

for a more interesting and detailed review have a look here at the photozone.de review

(they have also done a review of it on a full frame body)

What a horrible colour lens on a Black Canon EOS camera that's one lens I wouldn't buy; The range is nice 70-300mm.

YES I was taking about that; If it was black it would look nice for my camera

I don’t like the grey either – not because it’s not colour co-originated with the body.
I think it’s a product differentiation gimmick that is of no real benefit to the photographer.
Who really wants to draw attention their lens?

None of the stories/myths about why they are grey really stand up.

I see that photozone.de have now tested it on an APS-C body as well (and it seems to confiirm my feeling that this lens was really designed for the APS-C series)

I do not think so IMO; Why because I agree with Trevoreast 'gimmick'
