    I like those Steve, especially the first, you can feel the space around the bird. Lovely shot

        Hi Steve, as was mentioned a few Threads back, lets keep some of the environment in the shot. By cropping the shot you would have produced what I term the 'Field Guide Image' - image with great detail, nice uncluttered BG. Nothing whatsoever wrong with that, and I know some prefer those type of shots, I've taken them myself but I do like to see the bird, animal in its space - a bit of the natural surroundings. Perhaps we should post two images - one as taken, one cropped. Just my thoughts no doubt some will disagree other will agree.

            100% agree. I also quite often find myself taking shots where there are 2 or more totally different birds in the same pic to give an idea of size.
