Hi all

I have always struggled to get a decent shot of Ben Nevis from the Fort William side - this is the best I've managed so far (one day I will see the summit without cloud, but won't hold my breath). Taken from the other side of Loch Linnhe, it's worth the cost of the Corran Ferry fare to get there, then continue down the road to Glenfinnan for the monument and viaduct.

That's a nice shot that captures so much brooding menace

I know what you mean about the difficulty and that's due to Ben Nevis being so close to the town. The first time I saw it was from the train (the Jacobite to Mallaig) and, trundling along shortly after leaving Fort William, I saw what I thought was Ben Nevis towering above us. A little further down the track the 'real' mountain, that had been invisible due to us being too close to the hillside, came into view and it was just so impressive.

Nice shots Liz and John, Been to the summit twice but got no decent shots owing to cloud cover.
