    Devil's Coach Horse Beetle

I'd never heard of these before today (I had to Google for it) let alone seen one. I saw it scurrying across the path and as my shadow landed on it stopped and made like a scorpion! It's shame that I've lost some detail across its back due to the light but it was the best I could do.

Edit: retained some of the lost back detail

Thanks Stan. I was in the same spot today but didn't spot any others.

Nice find Chris only ever seen one. Would it be perhaps possible to left the shadow a tad - get a bit more detail.

Thanks Trev. I did try but to little avail. I may revisit the shot when I have time.

I had another go with this shot this afternoon and have managed to retrieve some of the lost detail.
