    Hall of Mirrors, Versailles, France

Had a couple of days at Versailles. Started off badly with a French national strike of museum staff on our first day (what are the chances?) which meant we still had to queue for an hour and a half in the hope they would open despite our 'beat the queue tickets'. Worked better on the second day, though - got in just as it opened and raced through the corridors past rooms we'd seen the day before and were the first visitors into the Hall of Mirrors...

The grounds were equally lovely but it was really grey sky so I'll be working through them over the next week and will add some to Flickr if anyone is interested; I doubt they'll make the cut for me to create a new thread for them.

Thanks for your comments Brian, Tom and Stan. To be honest, this was a case of 'if you want to make beautiful images - stand in front of something beautiful'.
