    You have caught that well Trev, it shows it really well because compared to the Cock it's a really drab bird

          Thanks Paul, Stan, Bill. Agree not as colourful as the males but in the right light they are very attractive birds displaying many shades of 'browns' in their plumage

            You are so right about the hidden colours in the hen, I often admire them as I pluck them. ��. Had to look up what a Staddle Stone was, very interesting, what sort of building was on yours?

              Staddlestones - they were here before my time but they used to build the hay ricks on them
