    Common Crane

Taken on a recent visit to WWT Welney where a group of up to 32 have taken to roosting at the site , getting a common site now around the Ouse washes and East Anglian fens.

Yes Trev , they breed in the East Anglian fens and I managed a few more flight shots of juveniles , believe a few young have also been reared at WWT Slimbridge

          nice flight shot

They are quite a common sight at Slimbridge during the winter with at least one pair nesting most years

Thanks Steve, Stan. I know you get them at Slimbridge and they rear them there but I never realised that they were breeding in the wild in this country.
