    Two Churchs

While we were on holiday in Cuba we were able to tap inside two different churches. Using the EOS R's HDR Feature to take these 2 images. The HDR Feature allows you to set the 3 exposure from auto +/- 1, +/-2 or +/-3. The Camera does do the processing of the HDR based on the setting you have selected to create a composite jpg. What it also does is save the 3 RAW files used to make the HDR Composite for you to use to make your own HDR image.

The Catedral of Havana began construction by the Jesuits of the cathedral in 1748 and it was completed by the Franciscan order in 1777. This Church housed the bones of Christopher Columbus’ between 1796 and 1898, before they were taken to Seville Cathedral.

The 2nd image is the Ceiling of the Chapel in the center of the Colon Cemetery that is used daily for funerals

Both images are 3 images HDR set to auto and I processed the RAW files in ON1 Photo 2018. Camera EOS R w/ EF R 24-105 mm. Both handheld

Very nice Tom, Churches seem to blend themselves to photography, although when I'm in one the cameras either in the car or at home.

Am I right in understanding that these are the in-camera HDRs? It does an impressive job if that's case.

Two lovely shots, Tom, although my OCD is twitching just a tad on the second one as you weren't 100% central when taking it!

                Those are good photos Tom.

I use in-camera HDR on both of mine and they do do a very good job (although on the 80D you have to set it to save JPEG only first, it can’t do HDR if you save both JPEG & RAW files). The 5D3 saves the RAW files OK.

If you’ve also done HDR on a canon DSLR I’d be interested to hear how you think the EOS R compares.

                  Re: Two Churchs

A nice couple of images (but the second rattles my OCD too :biggrin).

Impressive in-camera HDR but good to read that you still have the option to save individual RAW files should you want to process them your self later.

                  Cheers,
                  John

Both pleasing images...Ive never tried the HDR feature but it looks really good.....not sure I could be still enough for 3 sequential handhelds though.
