    Fly Agaric - round and flat cap

    Arne RSPB yesterday looking for fungi and found these fly agaric close to the place we have found them in previous years. The first, about 3" across and still maturing and the second, around 4-5", matured and the top flattened out

      never seen one of these and didn't realise how big they are
      they do vary in size, up to 8" across, the fresh ones as in the first shot are quite a vibrant red but as they mature and flatten they turn a dull orange

        I missed this Stan, very nice showing two of the stages in their growth. One that is most certainly poisonous.
