    The Steam Packet Inn

I haven't been on the forum much lately but I've been commissioned to provide some local scenes to decorate a Totnes B&B (with sales an option). Perusing my images I didn't really have much of the town but found this one that screamed for the mono treatment ( colour on Flickr too).

It's looking across the River Dart to a very nice (albeit foodie) pub:

I like that John but the sun being so powerful draws my eye away from the image, personally I feel it works better if you crop the height down to just above the tree removing the sun, you then get a wider shot that brings ones focus onto the scene. I hope you do not mind me mentioning it.

Congratulations on getting your own "studio" to show your talent :)

I know this spot and this is a nice shot. I can see what Tony says and can't decide either way.

Think the B&W version is stronger than the colour.

Like Tony I find the sun simply dominates the shot, I think his crop suggestion works well.

Thanks for the comments folks which I appreciate and entirely agree with so here's the edit:

          5D3_6024_AuroraHDR2019-edit-Edit-Edit.jpg

I had to make additional changes as the crop made more apparent some flare the worst of which I've removed. I've also cropped the modern buildings to the left and some surplus water at the bottom to improve the balance.

          Cheers,
          John
