    Lonely Cloud

A lonely cloud above the lake District fells, it's one image of many from a trip across to the Lake District yesterday.

This is sunset on Derwent Water taken from Isthmus Bay.

As always your thought and comments are welcome.

Cracking shot, what is that bright orange thing, not seen much of it up here. Dave

      Re: Lonely Cloud

Nice composition and exposure of a cracking scene, Peter, and that cloud wandering into position does nicely fill a void

I'm guessing it's HDR and, if so, what did you use? I ask because I'm seeing a a bit of halo along the skyline.
Was there much movement in the water? I suspect there was as the foreground is a tad blurred - again is this a result of HDR?

      Cheers,
      John

        Re: Lonely Cloud

No HDR John, I suspect the halo is down to my post processing.
The circular shape in the foreground I think was caused by the CP I had on and then compounded by the downward position of the camera and lens.
To be honest I was having problems checking the live view when composing and focusing because of the intensity of the sunlight.

Very nice shot of a lovely location Peter.
I think that dark foreground maybe takes up a bit too much of the shot though.
Wish I could just nip across for a few hours though. I was there four weeks ago for a few days and with traffic problems on the A1, it took 8.5hrs. Had a couple of good days out of five though.
