    Today's Kingfisher

The water levels are now starting to recede resulting in increased kingfisher action again, although despite having spent the whole morning there, still not as active as last week but got a few images on different perches

Nice one Stan, was going to look in yesterday but saw the state of the river further up and decided against it. Up the New Forest again next week so may give it a go then

            Re: Today's Kingfisher

            thanks for looking guys

was going to look in yesterday but saw the state of the river further up and decided against it.
I went on monday morning and the paths were still under water and the kingfishers were just flying by and not landing near. With such a lovely day yesterday i decided to go again and was most surprised that, other than a couple of small areas the paths were clear and the river level was visibly dropping - the metal post was just visible at 9 am and by 1 pm there was a good 6 inches showing. Remains to be seen what effect the forecast rain over the next couple of days will do
