    Todays Kingfisher

The river was in flood again on Monday so little close action from the kingfishers but this morning it had dropped some two feet, again exposing the metal post favoured by the birds and they were back with a vengence as if they had really missed it

        Another nice one Stan.
Re John comment, I think this is the problem with Kingfishers, they always seem to park themselves on the same perch. Unless you can get different view points then there is not much you can do. I found this with Blashford they always land on one of four or five perches all shots are basically the same.

          Re: Todays Kingfisher

          Thanks for looking guys

Agree this is not the perfect perch but it is different, has quite a nice patina and is at the perfect position from which to fish. There are a couple of other more natural perches, not quite as near so i am happy to continue shooting on the perch and looking for some different poses. After all, it is far better that either not seeing and shooting one at all or getting shots on the other side of the river, a speck in the viewfinder and right in among the branches
