    Victorian Market

I don't normally take people, but these were from a visit to the Castle Museum, York.

    Good environmental portraits.

Not sure about the sweet shop... The mono (sepia toned?) is more in keeping with the era - though the lady still looks too modern - but the colour version feels more alive which I think may be down to the colourful nature and appeal of the sweets themselves. On balance I think I prefer the colour version...

The lighting and tone on the 1st image is very well done. The 2nd image the lighting on the subject has her blending in with the background. Here a little pop with a flash to help separate her from the back ground would be helpful.

Thanks for the comments. Flash was not allowed. I also don't have one that works. The second mono was sepia toned using DPP.

Just a thought Chris. I like the Sepia overall but the candy in the background is over exposed and when converted to B&W just kind of fades into obscurity. Any chance of correcting that in PP? Of course you may not want to and if so just say so. Just a thought because I think the image has appeal.
