A dark Fox

Taken on a trail in a very dark part of the forest, some have commented on how dark coloured the Fox is

Well caught, once saw one (dead) that was almost black

Well seen and captured.

The Melanism Gene is certainly present in this Fox, although strictly speaking, it should be almost black to be termed Melanistic. I have seen it in Foxes, Squirrels, Pheasants and Owls, so although unusual, not particularly rare.
