Judges say never to have the subject looking out of the frame, but I think this one works very well.

Great expression, better looking than some of my relatives!

Nice capture, well exposed and composed.

Excellent capture - May I suggest a couple of minor tweaks
If mine I would consider darkening the background to ideally lose or minimise the distracting fence and then maybe lift the shadows in the eye sockets a tad. Hope it helps
            Cheers

I actually evaluated that Dave but decided against it. The reason is all the highly detailed fine hairlines. It would require WAY too big an investment in time than I am willing to persue. The eye sockets I lifted as much as I could without an unnatural look. Light wasn't good.

I did wonder hence my use of the phrase "I would consider" :-)
Its still an excellent shot though - so good I might myself be tempted to invest time with the background although I'm not the best at such things. Others on the forum have given excellent advice (Stan, Colin etc) in the past on how to do things like this efficiently.
                Cheers

This extreme crop should help put it in perspective Dave. I have done a lot of element separations in photos but wasn't willing to do what it took for this one LOL! Just too lazy!
