    Wild Dogs

Also known as Cape Hunting Dogs and Painted Wolves. Shortly after they finished drinking they began hunting and we followed in our safari vehicle. After only a few minutes they caught a young Kudu. This is the second kill I have witnessed and on both occasions it's the sound that haunts you. I can still hear the Kudu squealing as the pack of dogs attacked it. Unlike other predators they don't kill their prey before they start eating it. Nature can be very gruesome!

EOS 5D III with 70-200mmf/4L IS lens.

    Thanks for looking.

Well captured shot Brian. Not much to choose between these and Hyaena both very aggressive creatures. Have seen the odd one in Mara but see them more frequently up north, Samburu

Hi Brian, If i ever get to go to Africa there are two animals high on my wish list, a Leopard and African Wild Dogs. You have captured these dogs excellently in my opinion. Well seen and taken.
