This has to go down as one of the most special wildlife moments I have experienced in my life to date. This Tigress was the mother of three very young cubs and this photo was taken in the dense jungle off the back of an elephant. With the jungle forest being so dense in the majority of the National Park Elephants play a key role in preserving the Tigers by monitoring numbers , territories and cubs born each year throughout the park and provide the only viable means of park authorities tracking Tigers in this terrain, We were very fortunate in that our camp owner managed to arrange an elephant ride for us and they took us deep into the jungle where upon we found this beautiful cat enjoying a quiet moment to herself in the sun with her cubs hidden away safely somewhere close by. To be this close to a wild Tiger is a feeling difficult to describe but one I will never forget.
