    Long tailed Tits

Not sure about this one, still getting used to the new lens, the faster lens is making a difference, able to drop the iso and increase the shutter speed, compared to the Canon 100-400 in the same dark corner of the forest.

I like it, but that is not to dark, but such cracking birds, always a pleasure to photograph.

Nice pose, a little too central in the frame for me though.

Thanks Trev, as always the little blighters won't sit still, good practice chasing them about.

                    Re: Long tailed Tits

It was dark Steve, but I'm testing the lens with lower iso values to see how it performs, mornings are better at this location, it is surrounded by deep conifer plantations and the light is often too poor to get any worthwhile shots. I would have put the hide in a different spot myself, but it is a homemade one with a tree in the corner.

A bit central and dark, but well caught. What lens did you use?

                        Re: Long tailed Tits

It's a Sigma 500mm f 4.5,a bit of an old fashioned lens perhaps compared to the latest Canons, but budget restrictions meant this was a good option(I have other expensive hobbies to fund). I needed the always wanted reach and this gives me that without having to come out of retirement to pay for it lol.
