It was dark Steve, but I'm testing the lens with lower iso values to see how it performs, mornings are better at this location, it is surrounded by deep conifer plantations and the light is often too poor to get any worthwhile shots. I would have put the hide in a different spot myself, but it is a homemade one with a tree in the corner.Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way

It's a Sigma 500mm f 4.5,a bit of an old fashioned lens perhaps compared to the latest Canons, but budget restrictions meant this was a good option(I have other expensive hobbies to fund). I needed the always wanted reach and this gives me that without having to come out of retirement to pay for it lol.Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way
